VENTURA — The County’s Planning Division has invited the public to provide input on a Notice of Preparation (NOP) of a Draft Environmental Impact Report and to be heard at a public scoping meeting to be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., in the Multi-Purpose Conference Room in the Ventura County Government Center’s Hall of Administration at 800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009.
“The purpose of the Notice of Preparation and public scoping meeting is to present information that will be analyzed from the 2040 General Plan in a draft Environmental Impact Report and ask interested persons to help the County identify significant environmental issues, mitigation measures, and a range of reasonable alternatives that should be addressed in that report.” stated General Plan Update project Manager Susan Curtis.
The 2040 General Plan currently being drafted will set forth the County’s vision of its future for unincorporated areas and identify the goals, policies, and implementation programs that will guide decisions concerning a variety of issues, including land use, agriculture, transportation, hazards, public facilities, health and safety, environmental justice, and resource conservation out to the year 2040.
The public comment period for the Notice of Preparation is from January 14, 2019, to February 19, 2019. Interested individuals may submit comments on the scope and content that should be addressed in the Environmental Impact Report in writing no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 19, 2019. Comments may be submitted by mail to:

El Condado invita al público comentar en un informe de impacto ambiental y una reunión pública de alcance para el Plan General del 2040
VENTURA — La División de Planificación del Condado ha invitado al público a proporcionar información sobre un Aviso de Preparación de un borrador del Informe de Impacto Ambiental y ser escuchado en una reunión pública de alcance que se llevará a cabo el miércoles 30 de enero de 2019 a las 6:00 pm en el cuarto de conferencia Multi-Purpose en el Hall de Administración del Centro de Gobierno del Condado de Ventura en 800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009.
“El propósito del Aviso de Preparación y la reunión pública de alcance es presentar información que se analizará en el Plan General del 2040 en un borrador del Informe de Impacto Ambiental y pedir a las personas interesadas que ayuden al Condado a identificar problemas ambientales significativos, medidas de mitigación y un rango de alternativas razonables que deberían tratarse en ese informe “, declaró Susan Curtis, Administradora de la Actualización del Plan General.
El Plan General del 2040, que se está redactando actualmente, establecerá la visión del Condado sobre el futuro de las áreas no incorporadas e identificará los objetivos, políticas y programas de implementación que guiarán las decisiones relacionadas con una variedad de temas, como el uso de la tierra, agricultura, transporte, peligros, instalaciones públicas, salud y seguridad, justicia ambiental y la conservación de recursos hasta el año 2040.
El período de comentarios públicos para el Aviso de preparación es del 14 de enero de 2019 al 19 de febrero de 2019. Las personas interesadas pueden enviar comentarios sobre el alcance y el contenido que deben abordarse en el Informe de Impacto Ambiental por escrito a más tardar a las 5:00 p.m. el 19 de febrero de 2019.
