Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County: Holiday Angels Program Returns

VENTURA COUNTY — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County (BBSVC) is proud to once again partner with Harbor Freight, First Bank (Westlake Village), Student Corps, and individual donors for the organization’s Holiday Angels gift-giving program. BBSVC’s Holiday Angels opportunity for Ventura county to support youth facing adversity by adopting their holiday gift wish list.

“Every year we are amazed at the simple items on the wish lists: shoes, underwear, blankets, socks, etc. These basic necessities are outside the reach of families in our community,” said Manager of Marketing Communications at Harbor Freight, Anna Luisa Vazquez. “It is our organization’s core principle to give back to our local community and we are filled with joy in doing so. We hope the children and families also feel joy now and long after the holiday season.”

There are two different ways that individuals can get involved with Holiday Angels. The first opportunity is individuals to receive a wish list with details regarding the youth they have been chosen to support. Information will include first name, age, gender, clothing size and interests to assist with shopping efforts. The second option is the donation of gift cards to big box stores or check so a friend of the agency can shop on the donor’s behalf.

“Last year’s Holiday Angels program was a wonderful success, despite the aftermath of the Thomas Fire, and we appreciate the support of Ventura County again this year considering the trauma our community has recently endured. This giving program truly enhances what we can offer; for these families, these may be the only gifts they receive this holiday season,” said Director of Public Affairs, Rene’ Solem.

Anyone who is interested in supporting BBSVC’s Holiday Angels program is encouraged to contact the agency before Monday, December 17th by phone 805-484-2282 or email info@bbsvs.org
