Paint At Paseo Is Tomorrow – Thursday, April 4

Join us to celebrate life with Easter and spring season by painting at Paint at Paseo with Ita-Ink, a Santa Maria-based artist who loves to spread art in his community. By inspiring others to express themselves creatively, Ita-Ink will lead you through a 90-minute acrylic painting session designed for all ages and skill levels. All materials, including canvases, paints, aprons and brushes, are provided. Best of all, this monthly event is free!

Call For Proposals: K-Rail Public Art Project

We’re thrilled to share the news that the Office of Arts & Culture and City of Santa Barbara are partnering to invite artists, creatives, and cultural organizations to submit proposals for an original design treatment for 8 public K-Rails (traffic barriers) that demarcate the beginning of Santa Barbara’s State Street Pedestrian Corridor at the intersection of State St. and Haley St.

The selected design will be reproduced on a vinyl wrap that will be affixed to the pedestrian-facing side (not the traffic side) of the barriers and exhibited for a period of several months. The art will be located in immediate proximity to businesses, restaurants, retail shops, sidewalks, and streets. Submissions should be family-friendly. The selected artist will receive an honorarium of $1,500.

Proposals are due by Friday, April 5, 2024. Read the complete guidelines here.
