SANTA BARBARA — The South Coast Energy Efficiency Partnership (SCEEP) is giving away smart thermostats at the Community Environmental Council’s 2019 Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 29 at Alameda park. The thermostats are available as promotion of an up to $150 rebates available to qualifying customers of Southern California Gas (SCG) and Southern California Edison (SCE) who have a Smart Thermostat.
Valued at over $250, the smart thermostats allow for more efficient heating and cooling. To enter the drawing for the devices, festival-goers simply go to the SCE or SCG booths (#309-310) in the Public Square, located along Santa Barbara Street on the west side of Alameda Park. Utility representatives will also be on hand at the booths with information and advice to promote efficient and more sustainable energy use in our region. Six thermostats will be given away, and the drawing for winners will take place on Monday, April 29, 2019. Winners will be notified via phone.
To qualify for the rebates, customers must enroll in SCE’s Smart Energy Program. Wi-Fi-enabled smart thermostats controlling a working central air conditioning system (central A/C) supported by a Qualified Smart Thermostat Service Provider are eligible to participate. Smart Energy Program participants can additionally earn bill credits for reducing their energy usage during “energy events” up to $40 per year. See full details at SCEEP.org/thermostat.
