SANTA MARIA — Allan Hancock College is rolling out a new initiative this summer intended to provide students with enrollment assistance. Beginning June 10, the college invites students to Bulldog Express; free enrollment support workshops taking place every Monday and Tuesday through July 30.
Happening at both the Santa Maria campus and Lompoc Valley Center, the workshops will assist new, continuing, and Hancock Promise students with admissions, FAFSA and California Dream Act applications, new student orientation, first-semester planning, class registration, financial aid review, and navigating the myHancock student portal. Campus tours will be offered every 30 minutes, and student success workshops will also be available Tuesdays from 4 – 5 p.m. Bulldog Express additionally offers a “Next Steps Workshop” where students will learn how to get a student ID card, purchase a parking permit, set up their myHancock e-mail address, receive free textbooks, and more.
“Bulldog Express is where students can get a head start on their educational journeys,” said Hancock Dean of Student Services Yvonne Teniente-Cuello. “AHC wants to ensure that students have what they need to be successful this fall. Stop by to learn about financial aid, go on a tour, complete your orientation and student education plan, and meet key faculty and staff.”
The Bulldog Express workshops are scheduled as follows:
- Santa Maria campus: The workshops will be held in Student Services Building A, Mondays and Tuesdays, June 10 – July 30, from 3 – 6 p.m.
- Lompoc Valley Center: The workshops will be held in Building 1, on June 25, July 15, and July 30 from 3 – 6 p.m.
