SANTA MARIA — The Allan Hancock College Foundation announced the appointment of six accomplished community leaders to its Board of Directors.
The new members bring a wealth of experience in healthcare, business, finance, real estate and community engagement, further strengthening the Foundation’s ability to support Allan Hancock College and its students.
The newly appointed directors include: Dr. Carolyn Baldiviez, Michael Boyer, Mike Brady, Michael Carroll, Katie Gorndt and Candice Monge.
Dr. Baldiviez is a local dentist and a Santa Maria native. She serves on the St. Joseph High School Advisory Board, recently completed a term on the Marian Hospital Community Board and has served on the boards of the Santa Maria Youth and Family Center and the local Boys and Girls Club.
Boyer is president and CEO of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce. He has a diverse and extensive background in leading local businesses, serving on nonprofit boards and advocating for diversity initiatives in the region.
Brady is the founder of The Brady Group (Sotheby’s International), a top-producing real estate firm in the Santa Ynez Valley. He is a longtime community leader who has served on numerous nonprofit boards in the area, including Solvang Theaterfest, Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People and Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, among others.
Carroll is the branch manager for US Bank in Lompoc. A seasoned local banker, he has served as chair of the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, president of the Lompoc Valley Club and a member of the Lompoc Rotary Board of Directors, as well as the community council for the Lompoc Boys and Girls Club, where he was named volunteer of the year in 2018.
Gorndt is vice president and director of nursing for Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital in Solvang. A Lompoc resident, she serves on the governing board of EconAlliance and has been involved with numerous nonprofits in the region, including the Rotary of Solvang, CommUnify, United Way, People Helping People and See International.
Monge is vice president of patient care services and chief nursing executive officer for Marian Regional Medical Center, where she coordinates closely with Hancock’s nursing programs. She also serves on the Board of Directors for CALM and recently received the “SESLOC Cares for Community” award.
“We are thrilled to welcome these exceptional leaders to the Board of Directors,” said Jon Hooten, executive director of college advancement and the foundation. “Their diverse expertise and deep commitment to our community will be instrumental as we continue to advance the mission of Allan Hancock College and provide crucial support to our students.”
The new members take the seats of several members who recently termed out and resigned from the board, including Lee-Volker Cox (Santa Maria), Jim Fields (Lompoc), Mario Juarez (Santa Maria), Sam Orozco (Santa Maria), Gloria Soto (Santa Maria) and Naishadh Buch (Lompoc).

La Fundación Allan Hancock College anunció la incorporación de seis destacados líderes comunitarios a su junta directiva (Board of Directors).
Los nuevos miembros aportan una valiosa experiencia en los sectores de salud, negocios, finanzas, bienes raíces y participación comunitaria, reforzando así la capacidad de la Fundación para apoyar a Allan Hancock College y a sus estudiantes.
