Five Wishes celebration held in Santa Barbara

More than 200 community members took part recently in the Second Annual Community-Wide Gathering and Celebration of the Five Wishes held at the Rockwood Woman’s Club in Santa Barbara.

The Alliance for Living and Dying Well, a collaborative of Santa Barbara County organizations concerned with quality end of life care, hosted the event. The Five Wishes is an easy to use advance health care directive.

Scheduled event speakers included County Supervisor Salud Carbajal; Mayor Helene Schneider; Ron Werft, CEO of Cottage Hospital; Dr. Michael Bordofsky; Paul Malley, President of the national nonprofit Aging with Dignity; Susan Plummer, Executive Director of the Alliance for Living and Dying Well; and guest emcee Catherine Remak.
