OXNARD — Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice will present “Welcoming the Immigrant,” the fifth annual event for International Human Rights Day and a Posada Play, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Plaza Park, 500 So. C St., Oxnard.
“Help us shine a light on our broken immigration laws,” organizers reported in a media release.
Co-sponsored by One Step A La Vez, Citizens for Peaceful Resolutions, Witness for Peace Southwest, House Farm Workers!, La Hermandad Mexicana and the CLU Center for Equality and Justice.
The event will also include the Posada play “Strangers in Bethlehem,” seasonal music, immigrant stories and a candlelight procession to All Saints Episcopal Church.
