Bilingual report — Enjoy the Fourth of July, but do so in a Safe Way to Prevent Injury and Harm

As families in Ventura County are looking forward to celebrating America’s birthday during the upcoming Fourth of July weekend, it’s important to know that it’s OK to have fun under the sun, but without putting your health at risk and causing long-lasting injuries.

That’s especially true when it comes to fireworks, grilling and drinking alcohol, according to health experts.

“Celebrating the Fourth of July holiday is a special time many of us treasure dearly and look forward to every year,” said Dr. Juan Cruz, an internal medicine physician with Kaiser Permanente in Oxnard. “But I can’t stress enough the importance of celebrating responsibly and keeping safety in mind to ensure this festive holiday will be accident- and injury-free.”

Ventura’s 4th of July Street Fair seeking artisan vendors

VENTURA — Vendor applications for the City of Ventura’s 4th of July Street Fair are now open. This annual event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the 4th of July in Ventura’s Downtown District and brings tens of thousands of participants.  

Vendor applications will be accepted until Monday, March 31, 2025, before 5:00 p.m. PST. Applications must be submitted online via the City’s website. Eligible vendor groups include arts and crafts, nonprofits, and food vendors. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and listed online.

Pierre Clayessens Veterans Foundation to Air Special 4th of July Celebration this Saturday at 6 PM on KEYT

Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) invites the community to celebrate 4th of July with an hour long television special this Saturday, July 4th, on KEYT TV Channel 3 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
