Aug. 12 — (Rescheduled) CLU School of Management Forward Together Webinar Series — Managing the Unimaginable: Crisis as an Opportunity with Kelly Kimball of Vitu

In this webinar, Kelly Kimball, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman at Vitu will share some perspectives on how managing the unimaginable can turn a crisis into an opportunity. The webinar will be informative, insightful and will offer participants a new perspective, from an experienced entrepreneur, leader and visionary. The session will have a brief 25-minute presentation followed by open Q&A.

Sept. 2 — CLU School of Management to present ‘Global Supply Chain Risk Management during Uncertain Times’

As COVID-19 spread, countries on every continent went into lock down, and global supply chains came to a complete halt. Uncertainty is the new normal for supply chain managers, and there is no silver bullet. Based on his article, “Risk Management in an Era of Extreme Uncertainty”, published in Supply Chain Management Review (July/Aug 2020), Sumantra will address 10 strategies and techniques that may provide a template for managing in uncertain times. 

The webinar will include a short presentation by Sumantra Sengupta, managing director of EVM Partners, LLC., followed by an open, interactive Q&A session, moderated by Dean Apfelthaler.

Oct. 14 — CLU School of Management to present ‘Disrupting the Industry Technology Left Behind’

We are excited to invite the cofounders of Packform, Philip Weinmanand Preston Geeting (Cal Lu Alumnus ’02), who created an online marketplace that is revolutionizing the distribution industry. In this moderated event, Weinman and Geeting will share how they developed and successfully implemented technology in an industry left behind by technology. Packform was designed to change and disrupt the current landscape by consolidating all suppliers and customers into a single marketplace with the distributors forming part of the supply chain, rather than controlling it.

We are excited to invite the co-founder of Eat Your Coffee, Johnny Fayad, to share his story from day one in their dorm room making 10 bars/hour to graduating college having sold over a million of the original naturally caffeinated snack bar. He’ll also share a bit on how they’ve had to remain nimble over the years and how they’ve adapted during the current pandemic.
