Village Properties in Santa Barbara launches commercial real estate division

SANTA BARBARA — The Santa Barbara area’s largest independent real estate company, Village Properties, has established a new division to provide dedicated advice and representation to clients with commercial properties.   

The new Village Properties Commercial Group will work closely with clients seeking to purchase or sell multi-family dwellings, boutique commercial and retail properties, mixed-use buildings, and agricultural or buildable land.

SANTA BARBARA — Village Properties, the Santa Barbara area’s largest independent real estate company, recently attracted five seasoned agents to its growing team of Realtors.

Jen Plana, David Marchetti, Deja Rabb, Nicole Wesley and Nicole Powers join the more than 180 accomplished Village Properties’ Realtors serving clients across the Santa Barbara region including Montecito, Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez. Agents are hired based on their expertise, credentials, local knowledge and commitment to superior customer service, as well as their desire to support Village Properties’ mission of giving back to the community.

SANTA BARBARA — Kelly Knight, a long-time Santa Barbara real estate broker and the founder of Knight Real Estate Group, an affiliate of Village Properties, received two prestigious awards Dec. 1 from the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors.

A full-time, licensed real estate broker since 2005, Knight is a highly respected local agent who is dedicated to serving both her clients and the community at large. She received the Howard Gates Award for coordinating the sale of a property gifted to the nonprofit Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara (SFSB), the nation’s largest community-based provider of college scholarships. The association judged the sale as the most “challenging and intricate transaction” of 2023 that demanded “exceptional perseverance, determination, diligence, patience, and expertise”.

The Teacher’s Fund set an ambitious goal this year for its drive – and far exceeded it, thanks to the generosity of residents, local business leaders and entrepreneurs who answered the call to give back. In all, they raised more than $75,000 during this year’s drive.

Santa Barbara Teacher’s Fund ‘Back-to-School Supplies Drive Kicks Off!

The Teacher’s Fund has kicked off its 2022 Back-to-School Supplies Drive with the goal of ensuring students have all they need to thrive throughout the upcoming school year.

Twenty years ago, the owners of Village Properties launched the Teacher’s Fund as a way of helping make school learnings even richer. Since then, the Teacher’s Fund has raised over $1.9 million for the communities’ schools and hopes to pass the $2-million-dollar mark this 20th year through the Supplies Drive. The drive runs from Sept. 1 – Oct. 13 and offers the community the ability to sponsor teachers’ classroom requests.

“The community has been so giving over the years. We know they’ll step up for our hard-working teachers who play such important roles in the lives of our children,” said Village Properties Realtor Brianna Johnson, who came up with the idea of the supplies drive in 2019.

Guest contribution — Village Properties celebrates a major milestone

As it enters its 26th year of business, Village Properties is celebrating an astounding milestone: $20 billion in gross sales volume.

The figure alone is enough to bring pride to the 185 agents who are currently contributing to the Santa Barbara County-based firm achieving that goal. But company leaders say an even more meaningful number is 12,900, which reflects how many transactions they’ve closed. Put another way, it’s how many times they have paired people with the perfect place or represented sellers in maximizing the value of their property.

‘CBS Sunday Morning’ features historic Montecito estate listed for $39.995 million

A historic Montecito mansion whose former guests include Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy, was the featured backdrop to CBS Sunday Morning’s annual “By Design” edition Sunday.

Village Properties’ David Kim Discusses Residential Housing Trends at UCSB 2022 Economic Summit

David Kim, a local realtor and former president of the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors, offered a “boots on the ground” assessment of the region’s residential real estate market during the 2022 South County Economic Summit on Wednesday, May 4, at the Granada Theater.
Kim, who works for the Santa Barbara area’s largest independent real estate company Village Properties, was one of five guest speakers at the annual summit, organized by the University of California, Santa Barbara’s Economic Forecast Project. The Department of Economics at UCSB established the project in 1981 to provide the community with information on economic, demographic, and regional business trends in the Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo County areas.

Locally owned, independent real estate agency Village Properties has garnered recognition as one of the nation’s top brokerage companies based on average sales price for homes sold last year.

RealTrends, the country’s leading source of analysis and information on the residential real estate industry, placed Village Properties among the top three firms nationwide in the average sales price by volume category for 2020. The Santa Barbara-based brokerage ranked ahead of all but two real estate agencies across the country.
