Tracy Bennett to address Growing Screen Addiction & Cyber Dangers

Ventura Charter School third graders help restore endangered rainbow trout in Ventura County

VENTURA — This winter, Ventura Charter School’s third-grade class released 75 endangered rainbow trout into the lake at Rancho Simi Valley Park, concluding their investigation into California’s watersheds. The classroom expedition was part of “Trout in the Classroom,” a program in partnership with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Students worked on the watershed expedition beginning in August, with a holistic curriculum spanning independent research and activism related to California’s water and wildlife led by teachers Emily Noel and Lindsay Murray and culminating in the release of the fish on Dec. 20.

April 28 — Ventura Charter School hosts 13th annual EcoFest!

In support of Earth-friendly practices Ventura Charter School’s EcoFest welcomes the community to head to the campus utilizing a variety of transportation options. Bicycle to event and receive bike valet services sponsored by Bike Ventura County. Through Gold Coast Transit District’s Youth Ride Free Program, students and children 18 and under ride free with no identification required. There will be a variety of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, including a kid zone, an EV car exhibit, live music and dance and plenty more.

April 16 — SAVE THE DATE — Earth Day EcoFest in Ventura

Ventura Charter School is pleased to once again present Earth Day EcoFest, a celebration of our planet for the community of Ventura. After a three-year hiatus, this family-friendly FREE event welcomes the community to enjoy live performances, exhibitions, food trucks, an electric vehicle expo, and more. Earth Day EcoFest will take place on Sunday April 16th, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ventura Charter School campus, 2060 Cameron St., Ventura.
