SOLVANG — The California Nature Art Museum is pleased to announce California’s Changing Landscape: The Way of Water, an upcoming solo exhibition by renowned photographer George Rose on view through July 8, 2024 at The Wildling Museum, 1511-B Mission Drive in Solvang. Featuring more than 20 large-format documentary inkjet photographs of the Golden State, this timely exhibition showcases Rose’s recent expansive documentation of California’s dramatic water story.

George began this project during the Covid-19 pandemic, just as the effects of drought were becoming increasingly visible. His images capture those dramatic scenes. But then suddenly in early 2023 California was hit with record-setting rain

SOLVANG — The Wildling Museum of Art and Nature (www.wildlingmuseum.org) announces the return of its Annual Fall Online Auction. Online bidding goes live on Oct. 30th and closes on November 8th at 4 p.m.

Featuring more than 60 remarkable items, all proceeds will raise needed funds in support of the Wildling’s programs and exhibitions. With relaxing getaways, unique fine jewelry and art, local wines, and dining experiences, it’s the perfect way to shop and support the Wildling’s many exhibits and offerings.

Through Sept. 26 — ‘Fire & Ice’ at the Wildling Museum

After two years of preparation, The Wildling Museum of Art and Nature is proud to present its first exhibition focused on climate change titled Fire and Ice: Our Changing Landscape through Sept. 26.

Curated by executive director Stacey Otte-Demangate, the immersive exhibition features ten artists depicting the opposing forces of fire and ice across a range of media, including video installations, acrylic paintings, photography, mixed media, fabric panels, an ice drill, and more. Two artists implemented the use of natural materials in their works. Xavier Cortada of Miami, Florida incorporated glacial ice and Arctic dirt into abstract paintings, and Seattle, Washington-based artist Amiko Matsuo utilized ash and Phos-Chek fire retardant used in firefighting efforts for her large-scale abstract artworks.

Sewjourners: TREES features 45 new quilts inspired by the outdoors at the Wildling Museum

The Wildling Museum of Art and Nature is pleased to announce Sewjourners: TREES, now on view in the Museum’s third floor Barbara Goodall Education Center through January 16, 2022. The exhibition features 45 new quilts created by textile artists Isabel Downs, Linda Estrada, Carol Fay, Ranell Hansen, Pamela Holst, Patti Hunter, Susan Bullington Katz, Mary Maxwell, and Patty Six.
