UCSB Arts & Lectures presents The Joffrey Ballet on Thursday, May 12th at 8:00 p.m. Pacific at the Granada Theatre.
Classically trained to the highest standards, the Chicago-based Joffrey Ballet is considered one of the premier dance companies performing today. Heralded as “America’s Company of Firsts,” the Joffrey was the first dance company to perform at the White House (at Jacqueline Kennedy’s invitation), the first to appear on American television, the first to create a ballet set to rock music and the first to appear on the cover of Time magazine.
