San Luis Obispo County releases Annual Report of the Office of the Assessor for 2023-24

I am honored to provide you with the Annual Report of the Office of the Assessor for 2023-24. This report will provide useful information regarding the value of property in San Luis Obispo County. It is also an opportunity to express my appreciation to the great staff of the Assessor’s Office and to the people of our wonderful community.

Each year the Assessor is required to prepare an Assessment Roll of the value of all property subject to property taxation. The Roll for this year shows substantial growth in the value of real property. This resulted in a 6.24% increase in value for 2022-23.

March 18 — 2nd Annual Lumina Nights Gala in SLO to Honor Local Leaders

Lumina Alliance is hosting its 2nd annual fundraiser, Lumina Nights, on Saturday, March 18th, at Rava Winery in Paso Robles. The gala will feature a special performance from the 2022 Atascadero Dancing with Our Stars— a concept the agency plans to fully implement in 2024. This exciting event will raise funds to support those impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence in San Luis Obispo County.

San Luis Obispo County presents 2021 Annual Report of the Assessor’s Office which provides the latest information regarding the value of property assessed for property tax purposes.

With diligence and professionalism the outstanding employees of our office have fairly and equitably assessed the value of all taxable property within the county,” said Tom J. Bordonaro, Jr., County Assessor.

Commentary — No time to stop filling out U.S. Census form, registering to vote

The year 2020 will go down as one of the most challenging years this nation has faced. A continuing pandemic, large nationwide demonstrations for civil rights, a contentious election campaign season — all during a time when the nation was attempting to complete the 2020 Census.

Now, there is word that the Sept. 30 deadline to complete the Census may be pushed back to its original Oct. 31, 2020 pandemic-altered deadline: Please see — CNN —  Federal judge orders nationwide 2020 census counting to continue through October 31.

But since the ruling is subject to appeal, and nothing else appears predictable during 2020, it would be best to continue to fill out those Census forms as quickly as possible.
