SANTA BARBARA — The Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) invites the community to celebrate Independence Day with a free, family-friendly concert featuring Santa Barbara’s beloved 80-member Prime Time Band on Friday, July 4th at 5:00 PM at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Gardens (1100 Anacapa Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101).

Enjoy an uplifting afternoon of music that honors the spirit of freedom and the heroes who defend it. The concert program includes stirring tributes to military valor—with iconic themes from Band of Brothers and Top Gun—as well as fan-favorite selections from Wicked, How to Train Your Dragon, The Magnificent Seven, and classic patriotic sing-alongs.

May 27 — Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1649 will Pay Tribute to Those Who Died Serving at Free Memorial Day Ceremony

SANTA BARBARA — The Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1649 will remember those who gave the greatest sacrifice for their country on Memorial Day. This free event is open to the public. Join PCVF on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11:00 am sharp at the Santa Barbara Cemetery, 901 Channel Drive.

The open air ceremony includes presentations and performances by the UCSB ROTC Color Guard; Gold Coast Pipe & Drum Band; David Gonzales and the Santa Barbara Choral Society, The Prime Time Band, and a flyover by The Condor Squadron. 150 White doves will be released during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.

SANTA BARBARA — Celebrate Independence Day with Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation’s free outdoor concert featuring Santa Barbara’s 75+ member Prime Time Band. The concert is on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Gardens (1100 Anacapa St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101).

Delight in an hour of patriotic and inspiring music! The musical lineup includes tributes to the Olympics and John Williams, as well as celebrations of the 100th anniversaries of Santa Barbara’s Fiesta celebration, and the Granada Theatre. Special guest vocalist Anikka Abbott, TV News Personality, will perform.

“Each year we look forward to gathering with the community to celebrate 4th of July and also reflect on those who have bravely fought and continue to fight for our cherished freedom,” said VFW Lifetime Member and PCVF co-founder Lt. John Blankenship (USN, former).

Nov. 4 — Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation to Host 26th Annual Veterans Day Gala to Honor Local Veterans and Active Duty Service Members

SANTA BARBARA — Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) will host its 26th Annual Veterans Day Gala to honor local veterans and active duty service members. The Veterans Day Gala will be November 4th from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at The Star Spangled Hall at the Elks Lodge (150 N Kellogg Ave, Santa Barbara, CA). The evening will be filled with live music, dancing, a wonderful meal, and patriotic presentations.

This year, PCVF is proud to present special guest, Don Nichols, formerly with NASA and Technical Director for the Space Shuttle program at Vandenberg Air Force Base (Now Vandenberg Space Force Base). Mr. Nichols has been on the leading edge of space technology and will share the exciting history of the U.S. space program.

“Our hope is to create a fun night of patriotism and celebration to show appreciation to the men and women in uniform who serve and protect our country,” said PCVF co-founding director John Blankenship.

With the lifting of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) is pleased to present their first live, in-person, celebration since November 2019. On July 4th, from noon to 1:00 p.m., the community is invited to attend a special Independence Day presentation outside on the grounds of the historic Santa Barbara Cemetery.

Nov. 6 — Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation Proudly Hosts the 24th Annual Military Ball to Honor Local Veterans and Active Duty Service Members

Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) is pleased to announce the 24th Annual Military Ball to honor local veterans and active duty service members. The ball will be held Saturday, November 6th from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. The event will feature special guest speaker Francis Gary Powers Jr, an author, historian and lecturer.

The Military Ball is a formal event where attendees can connect and celebrate during a lively evening complete with an evening of live music, cocktail hour, silent auction, gourmet three-course dinner and dancing. Guests will also have a chance to shop in PCVF’s GI Bag pop-up shop. GI Bags are individually crafted handbags and totes from donated upcycled military uniforms.

Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) is pleased to extend a warm invitation to the greater Santa Barbara community to participate in a new campaign, “Honoring Our Veterans.” With your support, veterans from all service branches (Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard) from yesterday and today will be remembered and celebrated on PCVF’s social media accounts leading up to Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11th. To participate in this novel online campaign to honor “those who serve,” simply submit a jpeg photo of your loved one in uniform and include their full name, branch of service and years served. Please email the information to media@pcvf.org. Your submission will appear in the “Honoring Our Veterans” online series posted on PCVF’sFacebook and Instagram accounts through Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11th.
