Moorpark College Theatre Arts announces the addition of new faculty from the entertainment industry

MOORPARK — The Moorpark College Theatre Arts Department is pleased to announce the addition of new faculty members to assist students in their entertainment career paths. Casting Director Jane Flowers will be teaching Audition Techniques and Tim Hornor will be teaching Improvisational Comedy this upcoming Fall 2025 semester.

After receiving her MFA from UCLA in Acting, Jane Flowers transitioned into casting in 2011. She has been nominated for two Artios Awards which celebrates excellence in casting for TV, film, theatre and commercials. Her casting credits include “Daisy Jones and the Six” (Amazon), “Seal Team” (CBS), “Dreamquil” (independent feature) starring Elizabeth Banks and John C. Reilly, and “Die Hart” (Roku) starring Kevin Hart, Katherine Hahn, Anna Garcia and J.K. Simmons. She is a member of the Casting Society of America.

Moorpark College Holds Auditions for Summer Productions of ‘Blithe Spirit’ and ‘Disenchanted!’

The Moorpark College Theatre Arts department will host auditions for its upcoming summer 2022 productions of “Blithe Spirit” and “Disenchanted!” Auditions for actors for both productions will be held May 16-18 on campus. Both productions will run in July.

“We are thrilled to have the Performing Arts Center fully open and bring to our summer stage a classic family farce and the inaugural presentation of the hit fairy tale parody ‘Disenchanted!’” said John Loprieno, director and theatre arts faculty member.

Tony Award-Winning Musical ‘Kinky Boots’ Auditions Held at Moorpark College

The Moorpark College Theatre Arts Department will hold auditions for its spring 2022 production of the six-time Tony Award® Winning Best Musical “Kinky Boots.” Auditions for actors and musicians will be held Dec. 10-15 on campus. The play will run in March with evening and matinee performances.

“We are overjoyed to be returning to the Moorpark College main stage with a theatre arts performance for the first time in two years with ‘Kinky Boots,’” said director and theatre arts faculty member John Loprieno.

“It’s especially exciting because the rights for ‘Kinky Boots’ were just released, and we are honored to be one of the first non-professional theatres to be producing this hilarious and vibrant musical.”

Through Aug. 8 — Moorpark College Theatre Arts Offers Complimentary Admittance to ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’

The Moorpark College Theatre Arts Department is excited to offer admission at no cost to its summer production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” The play runs July 22 through Aug. 8 with Thursday through Saturday performances at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. This Tony Award-winning musical is a “Moving Forward Together” event as the college welcomes back students, faculty, staff and the community to the Moorpark College campus.
