CFROG accepting applications through Aug. 8 for youth Environmental Voices Academy

Climate First: Replacing Oil & Gas (CFROG) is accepting applications through Aug. 8 for its youth Environmental Voices Academy.

The academy is a14-week environmental justice training program for high school juniors and seniors residing in Ventura County. Click here to apply

Classes begin Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 and the program wraps up with a graduation ceremony on Saturday, November 20th, 2021.

The program is online over Zoom, with three required in-person Saturday sessions.

Online meetings over Zoom will take place Wednesday nights from 5:30-7:00 pm.
Two Saturdays at Cal State Channel Islands are TBD.
Graduation is Saturday, November 20th at CFROG’s Offices. 

After Industry Disinformation Campaign, Ventura County Forced to Send Oil and Gas Regulations to Ballot in 2022

After seemingly running an extensive disinformation campaign and spending close to a million dollars on contracted canvassers, the oil and gas industry succeeded in collecting enough signatures to pause Ventura County’s newly-won oil and gas regulations, and send them to the ballot instead, according to a media release by Climate First: Replacing Oil & Gas (CFROG).

CFROG Announces New Executive Director

The Climate First: Replacing Oil & Gas (CFROG) Board of Directors announced today that Liz Beall has been selected to serve as CFROG’s new Executive Director, effective this Thursday, October 1st, 2020. “CFROG’s Board is excited to welcome Liz Beall as our new Executive Director.” said John Brooks, President of CFROG’s Board. “Liz is an outspoken advocate for environmental justice and has the vision, perseverance, and knowledge needed to achieve CFROG’s goals.”
