The festival will be part live, part recorded. Winners of the third annual International Hot Sauce Competition will be announced along with the results of the “People’s Choice World’s Favorite Hot Sauce” “People’s Choice World’s Favorite BBQ Sauce” and “People’s Choice World’s Favorite Label” contests. The festival net proceeds go to benefit Rotary charities, first responders and the Grossman Burn Foundation for its care of burn survivors.

The Canyon Club Agoura Hills & the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club have joined forces during the COVID-19 pandemic to bring their audiences a new form of entertainment. The new event, Parked Car Comedy, features comedians, live music, food and drinks, all from the safety & comfort of your car.

The event will be Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard. Gates open at 6 p.m. with comedians performing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $40 in advance or at the door until sold out.

Aug. 26 — County Hosts Virtual Community Meeting to Discuss Housing Element Update

On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, the County of Ventura Planning Division will conduct a virtual community meeting to discuss the 2021-2029 County of Ventura Housing Element update. The Housing Element is a planning document that identifies the housing conditions and needs and establishes goals, policies and programs that will be the foundation for the County’s housing strategy for unincorporated areas through 2029.
