This is the largest support received to-date by Bank of America Charitable Foundation, which underscores VCCDC service and outreach to an underserved market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBank of America\u2019s grant helps ensure our programs and services are available throughout our diverse communities,\u201d said Bertha Garcia, VCCDC\u2019s Executive Director. \u201cOur financial education and counseling are vital to helping families achieve empowerment through homeownership and home preservation, enhancing our region\u2019s economic success. VCCDC\u2019s mission of serving low-to-moderate income families is made stronger by Bank of America\u2019s commitment, and in doing so, helps us leverage additional resources for our clients\u201d, she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHomeownership remains the most important wealth-builder for generations of hard working families. VCCDC provides not just valuable lending products, but just as importantly a strong foundation of homebuyer education and credit counseling that makes homeownership financially attainable and sustainable. We\u2019re very pleased to provide our largest amount of grant<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>support yet to this vital organization,\u201d said Midge Campbell Thomas, Bank of America president for Ventura and Santa Barbara.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWe are grateful for the overwhelming support received from Bank of American in order to continue investing in our communities through individuals and families, one home at a time,\u201d Garcia added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT VCCDC<\/strong> \u2014 The Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that has worked to fulfill its mission of empowering families through education and homeownership. Since its inception in 2001, VCCDC has originated over $180M in mortgage loans; provided more than $17M in down payment assistance; provided education and one-on -one coaching to over 18,000 families and individuals; and invested more than $32M in community revitalization through its Acquisition and Rehab program.
