June 17 — Carnegie Art Museum Arcade Poetry Series

OXNARD — CAM Cornerstones board member Jackson Wheeler, revered poet, patron of the arts and loyal friend passed away last Friday, June 9th after heroically battling brain cancer. Jackson organized the Arcade Poetry Series for decades in Ventura County with its final home here at the Carnegie. Jackson’s generosity of time, talent and passion will forever be with us thanks to the beautiful words he left behind.

Thank you to Phil Taggart and Marsha de la O for spearheading the release of Jackson’s latest book of poetry Was I Asleep, and the reading event in Ventura on June 3rd.  The book will be available for purchase at Saturday’s poetry reading here at the Carnegie.
